This was a grimy love story with a lot of dark and eventful twists and turns. The writer writes with ease and keeps the pages turning with suspense. Dina, a once masculine lesbian had a beauty that couldn’t be masked behind big clothes and baseball caps, teams up with Dibo, the King of the Bricks, to take over the drug trade of Essex County. In the midst of the takeover, Dina falls for Dibo in a way that she’s never looked at a man before, just as life seems to get no better, schemes are formed lives are lost and the ones who had it all…. lost it all. Definite thumbs up. I’m interested in reading other LeighAnne Boyd novels as she appears to be an up and coming writer and a force to be reckoned with.
